mizoguchi:

Not to be an elitist film snob but I feel like everything is increasingly just A24, Criterion, and any Oscar contender film in terms of what the western art film landscape is when it comes to film culture (which is definitely filtered through what is presented in social media). People are complaining (rightfully so) about the capitalist monopolization of Hollywood but then think that some Greta Gerwig film with all white-cast is somehow the solution to all of this.
