staygay-ponyboy:

i don’t think we give the scary stories to tell in the dark series quite enough credit, considering it shaped every kid who read it. that book was what ultimately made you decide to either never read anything scary ever again or dive headfirst into horror. scary stories to tell in the dark was effective and legitimately scary horror writing without relying on excessive gore. and, like, don’t even get me fucking STARTED on harold.
